GOVERNMENT APPROVALS FOR THE GRS The Queensland state government Department of Local Government, Planning, Sport and Recreation for
installation in unsewered areas in Queensland (see their website The New South Wales Department of Health has assessed the GRS as a greywater diversion device (GDD) as set out in their "Greywater Reuse in Sewered Single Domestic Premises Policy", dated April 2000. The GRS and the associated land application system do not require accreditation from NSW Health. An approval to operate a GDD (GRS) and the land application facility (irrigation areas) must be obtained from your local council prior to the installation of the GRS. Similarly the Environmental Protection Agency in Victoria classifies systems such as the GRS as greywater diversion devices (GDD) in their Information Bulletin "Domestic Wastewater Management Series. Reuse Options For Household Wastewater. Publication 812 November 2001" The GRS conforms to the guidelines for greywater handling and reuse. An approval to operate a GDD (GRS) and the land application facility (irrigation areas) must be obtained from your local council prior to the installation of the GRS. The GRS conforms to the performance requirements of the Australian and New Zealand Standard "AS NZS 1547-2000 On-site domestic wastewater management".
